Once I figured out how to play acrid, he quickly became one of the strongest for me. Never really tried the melee combat style with him yet. Seems like the blight + bite attacks were probably an attempt at making him into a melee instead of a ranged character.

Can't tell you if it's a good or bad skill. I haven't really tried his bite skill much. His health and regen are also really high too. Deals damage without having you stop moving to shoot.Īcrid's damage scaling is the highest of all the survivors, +3 per level, beaten only by the damage scaling of turrets. Little disciple is one of the best items you can get with him. I used to prefer using strides of heresy and hardlight so I can hide while everything dies to poison, but his leap can go an insane distance with just a few goat hoofs so I've stopped using strides with acrid. He doesn't start out as the most impressive, but his ability to stay safe and still deal respectable damage makes him the most reliable character to get a long run with. It will let you deal damage faster, though it isn't a major requirement and standing still while shooting with them in later levels might put you in too much danger. Once you have those, you can stay safe while slowly gaining more items and getting stronger. His leap can go a very long way once you get a few of those. My primary focus with him is to gather goat hoofs. If you use blight, you can stack a ton of poisons on an enemy to wear them down quickly and blight doesn't stop at 1% enemy health like poison does. This means that his damage will be very reliable even if you fail to get many damage items. His poison may not be overwhelming, but it does damage based on the enemy's max health. If there is a group of enemies where it's safe to dps, you just R and then hold down LMouse, and you instantly bleed the group with an exploding rapid fire ranged attack, and poison all else.ĮDIT: I forgot guillotine which just ignores the poisons "Can't kill rule" against elites. Here comes the best part though, if you have a ukulele, then that means every time the R jumps, it has a chance to proc the ukulele, which then reprocs your other items that all give status. You get 5 effects out of the 4 needed to proc Death mark, which is an insane dps increase. Considering the R also has a proc coefficient of 1.0 for every jump it makes, if you combine tri-tip, Chronobauble, Stun grenade, Gas burn, and Poison. The next part is just how crazy the damage can be before the poison even ticks down. You throw the R out and now you can take your time focusing on dodging enemies before doing it again in 10 seconds. The best part about him is it's entirely fire and forget. There is where your commando like dps comes in from, but thats only filler for when you aren't using R and dodging. You have 12x ranged projectiles that have a 0.1 proc coefficient, that then explode with a 1.0 proc coeffiecient. I play purely ranged acrid, and never go melee once I get that item. My go to every time I play acrid is to get Visions of Heresy asap. It will continue to jump 20x and 10%hp just from the skill alone is a ton. Doesn't even need to be a direct hit either as it "bounces" off the ground to any nearby enemy. You can spread poison to many enemies very quickly with just one hit. I believe acrid to actually be the strongest.
